Kanneeranjali (kanneeranjali.com) publishes death notices and remembrances for the Tamil community. A notice is public by nature, so this page explains clearly what we publish, what we keep private, and how you can ask us to change or remove something.
What we collect
When you post a notice
- Published on the notice: the details of the person who has passed away (name, dates, hometown, where they lived, country), the announcement, photos, funeral and remembrance events, and the family contact (name, relation and phone number) you choose to show.
- Kept private: your own name, phone number and email as the person posting. Only our team sees them, to check the notice with you before it is published.
When you write a condolence
Your name, your city (optional) and your message are published on the notice.
When you light a lamp
Only the count goes up. We don’t record who lit it; your browser remembers that you did.
When you create an account
Your name, your email address and your password. The password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form — nobody, including us, can read it.
Technical information
Like every website, our server sees your IP address and browser type. We use the IP address for a short time to stop floods and spam (for example, limiting how many forms one address can send per hour); these counters live only in the server’s memory and are not stored with your details. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security.
Cookies and storage in your browser
- Sign-in cookie — only when you sign in, to keep you signed in (up to 30 days). Strictly necessary.
- Language and lamps — your English/Tamil choice and the lamps you have lit are remembered in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device.
- Live chat — the chat button is provided by tawk.to, which sets its own cookies to keep your conversation going.
- Spam check — some forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which may check your browser to tell people from bots.
We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t sell or rent anyone’s information.
Who else handles the data
Only the services we need to run the site, each for its own job:
- our hosting server, which runs the website and stores uploaded photos and videos;
- Turso, the database that holds notices, condolences and accounts;
- Cloudflare, for security and spam protection;
- tawk.to, for live chat.
Published notices are public: search engines such as Google can show them, and anyone with the link can share them. Link previews on WhatsApp and Facebook show the photo, name and years.
How long we keep it
- Notices stay online as a lasting memorial unless the family asks us to remove them.
- Your details as the person posting are kept as long as the notice exists, so we can confirm later requests.
- Accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them.
- A notice that isn’t published is seen only by our team, and we delete it if you ask.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to remove a notice, condolence or photo. Email [email protected] with the link and your request. For a notice we check that the request comes from the family before changing it. See also copyright & content.
Children
Accounts are for adults. Notices about children are only published at the request of their parents or guardians.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top.

நீங்கள் இரங்கல் எழுதும்போது
உங்கள் பெயர், நகரம் (விரும்பினால்), செய்தி ஆகியவை அறிவித்தலில் வெளியிடப்படும்.
நீங்கள் தீபம் ஏற்றும்போது
எண்ணிக்கை மட்டுமே கூடும். யார் ஏற்றினார் என்பதைப் பதிவுசெய்வதில்லை; நீங்கள் ஏற்றியதை உங்கள் உலாவி நினைவில் வைக்கும்.
நீங்கள் கணக்குத் தொடங்கும்போது
உங்கள் பெயர், மின்னஞ்சல், கடவுச்சொல். கடவுச்சொல் மறைகுறியாக்கப்பட்ட (hash) வடிவில் மட்டுமே சேமிக்கப்படும் — எங்கள் உட்பட யாராலும் அதை வாசிக்க முடியாது.
தொழில்நுட்பத் தகவல்
எல்லா இணையத்தளங்களையும் போல, எமது சேவையகம் உங்கள் IP முகவரியையும் உலாவி வகையையும் காணும். தாக்குதல்களையும் ஸ்பாமையும் தடுக்க (உ-ம்: ஒரு முகவரியிலிருந்து மணிக்கு அனுப்பக்கூடிய படிவங்களை மட்டுப்படுத்த) IP முகவரியைச் சிறிது நேரம் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம்; இக்கணக்குகள் சேவையக நினைவகத்தில் மட்டுமே இருக்கும், உங்கள் விவரங்களுடன் சேமிக்கப்படுவதில்லை. பாதுகாப்புக்காக எமது வழங்குநர் வழமையான சேவையகப் பதிவுகளை வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

- மொழியும் தீபங்களும் — தமிழ்/ஆங்கிலத் தெரிவும் நீங்கள் ஏற்றிய தீபங்களும் உங்கள் உலாவியிலேயே சேமிக்கப்படும்; உங்கள் சாதனத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறாது.
- நேரடி அரட்டை — அரட்டைப் பொத்தான் tawk.to வழங்குவது; உரையாடலைத் தொடர அது தனது குக்கீகளை அமைக்கும்.
- ஸ்பாம் சோதனை — சில படிவங்கள் Cloudflare Turnstile ஐப் பயன்படுத்துகின்றன; மனிதரையும் தானியங்கிகளையும் வேறுபடுத்த அது உங்கள் உலாவியைச் சோதிக்கலாம்.

தளத்தை இயக்கத் தேவையான சேவைகள் மட்டும், ஒவ்வொன்றும் தன் பணிக்காக:
- இணையத்தளத்தை இயக்கி, பதிவேற்றிய படங்கள், காணொளிகளைச் சேமிக்கும் எமது சேவையகம்;
- அறிவித்தல்கள், இரங்கல்கள், கணக்குகளை வைத்திருக்கும் Turso தரவுத்தளம்;
- பாதுகாப்புக்கும் ஸ்பாம் தடுப்புக்கும் Cloudflare;
- நேரடி அரட்டைக்கு tawk.to.
வெளியான அறிவித்தல்கள் பொதுவானவை: Google போன்ற தேடுபொறிகள் அவற்றைக் காட்டலாம்; இணைப்பு உள்ள எவரும் பகிரலாம். WhatsApp, Facebook முன்னோட்டங்களில் படம், பெயர், ஆண்டுகள் தெரியும்.
எவ்வளவு காலம் வைத்திருக்கிறோம்
- குடும்பத்தினர் நீக்கக் கேட்காதவரை அறிவித்தல்கள் நிலையான நினைவாக இணையத்தில் இருக்கும்.
- பின்னர் வரும் கோரிக்கைகளை உறுதிப்படுத்த, அறிவித்தல் உள்ளவரை அதை இட்டவரின் விவரங்கள் வைக்கப்படும்.
- நீங்கள் நீக்கக் கேட்கும்வரை கணக்குகள் வைக்கப்படும்.
- வெளியிடப்படாத அறிவித்தலை எமது குழு மட்டுமே பார்க்கும்; நீங்கள் கேட்டால் நீக்குவோம்.
உங்கள் தெரிவுகளும் உரிமைகளும்
உங்களைப் பற்றி நாம் வைத்திருக்கும் தகவலைக் காட்ட, திருத்த அல்லது நீக்க, அல்லது ஓர் அறிவித்தல், இரங்கல், படத்தை நீக்கக் கேட்கலாம். இணைப்பையும் கோரிக்கையையும் [email protected] க்கு அனுப்புங்கள். அறிவித்தலை மாற்றும் முன் கோரிக்கை குடும்பத்தினரிடமிருந்து வருவதை உறுதிசெய்வோம். பதிப்புரிமையும் உள்ளடக்கமும் பக்கத்தையும் பாருங்கள்.
சிறுவர்கள்
கணக்குகள் வயது வந்தோருக்கானவை. சிறுவர்கள் பற்றிய அறிவித்தல்கள் பெற்றோர் அல்லது பாதுகாவலர் கேட்டால் மட்டுமே வெளியிடப்படும்.
