What families post stays theirs

The words and photos in a notice belong to the family or the person who posted them. By posting, you give Kanneeranjali permission to show them on the site and to use them in what the site makes from a notice: resized and cropped photos, link previews for WhatsApp and Facebook, the home page slideshow and memorial cards. This permission is not exclusive — you can publish the same notice anywhere else — and it ends when the notice is removed.

When you post, you confirm that the information is true to the best of your knowledge and that you may share the photos (for example, they are family photos, or the photographer agreed).

What belongs to Kanneeranjali

The website itself — its design, the notice and card templates, the artwork (temple borders, lamps, garlands, lotus), the name and mark Kanneeranjali™ and the help texts — is © Kanneeranjali. Please don’t copy them for another website or app.

Sharing notices and memorial cards

  • Welcome: sharing the link to a notice anywhere; sending, posting as a status or printing a memorial card for the funeral, the remembrance or the family.
  • Please keep: the kanneeranjali.com mark at the foot of the card, and any photo credit shown on it.
  • Not allowed: copying notices, photos or cards in bulk (by hand or by automated scraping) to another website, page, app or channel; selling cards or using them in advertising; changing a notice or card so that it says something the family didn’t.

Photos under other licences

Some photos are used under free licences (for example from Wikimedia Commons). Their author and licence are shown under the photo and on the card, and those licence terms apply to them.

Condolences

You keep the rights to what you write. By posting a condolence you let us show it on the notice and in recent activity. We may hide messages that are offensive, advertising or unrelated.

Corrections and removal requests

If a notice is wrong, uses your photo without permission, or you are the family and want something changed or taken down, email [email protected] with:

  1. the link to the notice;
  2. what should be corrected or removed;
  3. who you are (your relation to the family, or that you own the photo) and how to reach you.

We act quickly. A notice that may be false is taken offline while we check. Photos used without the owner’s permission are removed.

Accuracy

Notices are written by families and the people they ask to post them. We check every notice before publishing, but we can’t guarantee every detail; please confirm funeral times with the family contact on the notice.
